- Draft revision for the Trademark Act submitted to the National Assembly - 

 

Under the revised Trademark Act that will expand the subject of trademark protection, new types of visually recognizable trademarks will be protected in the future. These visually recognizable trademarks include those made only with coloring, motion trademarks, and hologram trademarks. Imitative trademarks that are similar or identical to other trademarks will not be registered. This revision represents a significant change.

 

Going through the examination procedure of Ministry of Legislation and Cabinet council, KIPO (Commissioner: JUN, Sang Woo) confirmed a Revised Bill for Trademarks Law as a governmental bill, and submitted it during this regular session of the National Assembly.
